Bitten by a snake.

The term “trouser snake” gained a new meaning through this peculiar bitten by a snake incident.

Terdsak Kaewpangpan, from Bangkok, Thailand, woke up one day and headed to the toilet for a crucial task. As he attempted to stand up, he experienced an intense and sharp pain in his manhood.

“I felt a bite as I was about to stand up from the toilet,” he recounted to Thai broadcaster Amarin TV. “I immediately recognized he was bitten by a snake. I stood up, grabbed the python’s head, and pulled it off me. Blood was everywhere.”

Instead of succumbing to the injury, Terdsak had a neighbor drive him to the nearest hospital, where he received 15 stitches on his penis and scrotum.

You might wonder how he could be surprised by a python hanging off his genitalia. Terdsak and his colleagues, who operated from his home doubling as his production company’s office, were already aware of a snake in the house’s plumbing. They would jest, cautioning each other to “watch out for the snake!” when using the restroom.

“We have two bathrooms in the house,” he informed the local media. “Someone spotted a snake in one of the bathrooms around two months ago, but we couldn’t catch it. We simply stopped using that bathroom and switched to the other one. I didn’t realize the pipes were interconnected. I was negligent.”

Within 30 minutes, a local animal control officer successfully captured the toilet python, preventing potential future mishaps.

Surprisingly, this is a fairly common occurrence in Thailand. Snakes, predominantly pythons and cobras – the last ones you’d wish to encounter in your toilet – frequently slink up the pipes to surface when people are most vulnerable.

Animal control officers in 2017 extracted a staggering 4,612 snakes from residences, with pythons constituting the vast majority (4,519).

In 2016, another man was bitten by a snake on his penis, presumably from a different python. Another individual was bitten on the shin. Just recently, a woman woke up to discover a king cobra nestled beneath her sheets. Thai folklore suggests that finding a snake in your bed indicates a secret admirer, a charming notion for such a perilous encounter.

To the best of our knowledge, there are no tales about discovering a python in your toilet, apart from associating it with ill fortune.
