Marvin Lee Balaoro Tolentino, who proudly hails from Abra, is the first Filipino Bar topnotcher, having placed fifth in the Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE) in London, United Kingdom (UK) in December 2020.
On July 7, 2015, Atty Tolentino graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree with Second Class Honors (Upper Division) from the University of Surrey in London, finishing at the top of his class as Summa Cum Laude, an honorary title used by academic institutions to exemplify a degree earned “with the highest distinction.”
In 2016, he completed his Legal Practice Course (LPC) at the University of Law.
After complying with the Solicitors Regulation Authority Authorization of Individuals Regulations, Atty Tolentino has been admitted as a solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales, effective January 1, 2021.
The 27-year-old is the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Manulito and Perlita Balaoro Tolentino of Bai, Lagayan, Abra. He is now someone that the people of Dolores and San Juan, both in the same province, can be proud of.
